Santhosh Shekar, Knowledge Management Architect, Receives Second ISO 30401 Certification

The need for strategic Knowledge Management (KM) immediately became apparent when companies had to let go large percentages of their workforces as a result of the pandemic. A culture based on Knowledge Management increases an organization’s resilience in good times and bad. 
Santhosh Shekar has earned the second ISO 30401 professional certification from Dr. Ron McKinley on behalf of the International Center for Enterprise Engagement at Santhosh is the Knowledge Management Architect at Petroleum Development, Oman, in the Sultanate of Oman. (PDO won 2019 Global & MENA MIKE award Winner)
Santhosh joins the Knowledge Management expert and author Patricia Eng, who was the first to earn professional certification in ISO 30401 knowledge management systems from Dr. McKinley on behalf of the International Center for Enterprise Engagement at Dr. McKinley directed the ISO working group 260 that created this standard.
In his role, Santhosh will also serve on the Executive Action Committee of the Enterprise Engagement Alliance outreach organization at, which oversees the organization’s curriculum and certification program on Enterprise Engagement. Santhosh will help develop the introductory course on Knowledge Management for the 2021 curriculum update. 
Explains Dr. Ron McKinley, “Santhosh has demonstrated that he possesses the necessary knowledge, experience, skills, abilities, attributes, education, and training that qualifies him to assess both individuals and organizations regarding their conformance to ISO Standard 30401 – Knowledge Management systems requirements (ISO 30401).” 
Santhosh has more than 20 years of experience in the field of Knowledge Management and Organizational Development, including KM assessment and evaluation; KM program management, KM technologies; knowledge architecture, KM integration into  business operations, knowledge asset management, intellectual capital management, knowledge retention, communities, collaboration and organizational learning, and more. He has experienced the implementation of KM through its entire lifecycle.
The goals of Knowledge Management, he says are, “Enhancing productivity, enabling process efficiency, streamlining information clutter, developing organizational competency and skills, establishing a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing and natural free-flowing tacit knowledge exchange, and making knowledge accessible for future use, are the essence of my work.” 
KM for him is not just a job, he says, “but a lifelong passion and hobby to pursue the greater understanding of organizations/people/world culture.” He “envisions that KM will become full-fledged strategic functional unit in every organization irrespective of their size and scale.”
